    It will happen

This is a good idea, and almost ready to happen. With devices like the Kindle available now, it will only be a matter of years until a touchscreen version, wireless and with a writing interface will be ussed to do just what you describe. I guess within ten years some schools will be able to make this transition. Just my guess, but then, I’m a stooge!

The Kindle is to books what the ipod is to music.  The Kindle is almost what she is looking for and probably an early version of her ultimate needs.

I was tempted to upload my kids textbooks already
    Avatar

Wouldnt take too long to upload all my childerens text books to a Laptop and store them all as PDF atleast minimizing some of the weight he carrys around. Would be nice to see this technology integrated into our education system soon though. I agree that now days kids have too much crap to carry around. A universal system would make things easier. i dont think we are too far off from this type of technology becoming a reality. Unfortuantly it will be a long way off before it is implemented however because faculty now days are lightyears behind even our children when it comes to technology, some teachers at my kids school cant even navigate let alone design a myspace page and that is just plain pathetic
